Signing the agreement
We have got some exciting news to share with you today. Picture this: Kenneth Matengu, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Namibia, and Daniël Wigboldus, the President of the Executive Board of Radboud University, gathered at the State House in Windhoek for a remarkable event. They signed a significant framework agreement!
What does this agreement entail, you ask? Well, it's all about strengthening the collaboration between the University of Namibia (UNAM) and Radboud University, but here's where it gets super exciting. They're making dreams come true by bringing the Africa Millimetre Telescope to life right here in Namibia! Can you believe it? We're talking about a mind-blowing, awe-inspiring telescope construction project.
But wait, there's more! This whole signing ceremony was a big deal. We had some high-profile guests in attendance, including Namibian President Hage Geingob, the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte, and the Prime Minister of Denmark, Mette Frederiksen. They were in Namibia to chat about the country's ambitions to become a leading force in green hydrogen production. Plus, they wanted to promote knowledge sharing between their countries.
In the midst of all the excitement, Wigboldus had something profound to say. He mentioned that when African and European universities work together on the basis of equity and respect, it's not just about advancing science. It's about enriching our societies as a whole. Wise words! And guess what? By signing this framework agreement, they're also celebrating the friendship between our universities.
So, here's to the future of scientific collaboration, friendship, and the pursuit of knowledge. Let's raise our glasses (or coffee mugs if that's your thing) and toast to this remarkable milestone. Cheers!
